Mother Freddie Norman-Bean Battle Creek Mother Freddie Norman-Bean, age 80, of Battle Creek, died Sunday, November 17, 2013 after a long illness at home. Freddie was born on August 24, 1933 in Dumas, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Benjamin and Caldonia Norman. She moved to Detroit where she met and married Percy Bean, Sr. and later settled in Battle Creek, MI. Five children were added to complete their family. She was employed and retired from the Battle Creek Federal Center. She was a member of First Pentecostal Family Worship Center. Mother Freddie was preceded in death by one son, Jowell. She leaves to cherish her memory, her devoted husband, Percy Bean, Sr., four children; Fern Bean, Percy Jr. (Carla) Bean, Saundra (Jerome) Smith, Gary (Demetra) Bean and daughter-in-law Cecilia, eight grandchildren; Ashley (Harrison) Kent, Chelsea, Jasmine, Jalen, Percy III, Perry, Jowell Jr., Jewel Cecilia, three great grandchildren; Harrison Jr., Lailah, Morgan and two special grands; Ashana and Tierra and numerous relatives and friends. Services will be held Saturday, November 23 at of First Pentecostal Family Worship Center, 4720 Beckley Road, Battle Creek, MI. Family hour at 11 am, funeral at 12:00 pm.
