Glen A. Horton Glen A. Horton, 92 residing at Colonial House the last 2 years in Marshall, Michigan formerly of Homer passed away Wednesday, December 8, 2010 at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall, Michigan. He was born January 26, 1918 in Streator, Illinois to Walter and Amy (Angier) Horton. On April 20, 1940 in Jackson, Michigan he married Margaret L. Gyles who preceded him in death June 10, 2006. Glen was employed at Vernors as a truck driver in Kalamazoo; Lafere Forge in Jackson for 24 years, Anderson Brothers in Homer, Randall Foods in Tekonsha for 14-15 years, Acorn in Quincy as a foreman, not including being a self-employed farmer for 60 years. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church in Albion, enjoyed hunting, fishing, spearing, pigeons including homing, racing, rollers and tumblers. Glen is survived by: sons- Rodney (Mary) Horton of Tekonsha, Roger Horton of Tekonsha; (5) grandchildren; (10) great-grandchildren He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Funeral Service will be Saturday, December 11, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church, 1020 Irwin Avenue, Albion, Michigan 49224 with Father Gordon Greene officiating. Visitation for family and friends will be Friday, December 10, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion with Scripture Service at 7:00 P.M. Friday, December 10, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will at Fairview Cemetery, Homer, Michigan. Assistance with Memorial Contributions to: St. John Catholic Church of Albion or St. Mary Catholic Church of Marshall is available at the funeral home. www.kevintiddfuneralhome.com
