Harold Conley Obituary
Harold "Dean" Conley Sr.

On January 14, 2015 Harold "Dean" Conley Sr., was reunited in death with his Mother (Billie Faye Brown), Father (Millard Conley), and Sister (Debora "Deb" Conley).  Dean was born October 26, 1954 in Lackey, Kentucky, to his mother and Coal Miner father.  His family located to Albion, Michigan in his youth, where he, his brothers and sisters were raised.

When Dean was in his early twenties, he returned to his roots in Kentucky, and decided to follow his father's footsteps as a coal miner.  He was employed at the Ball Branch Coal Company in Mousie, KY as well as a Pipe Line Company for many years.  In 1984 Dean decided to move, with his family, back home to Albion, Michigan to be closer to his parents, older children and family. He always took pride in his work and was employed in many fields upon returning home, including Malleable Iron Industries, a Pig Farm located outside of town, Mid-Michigan Metal Products, and 18 years for Go Cat Feather Toys Inc.

He was a private man with a huge heart, and was willing to do anything he could to help others in need.  Some of his favorite past times were going Fishing, Deer Hunting, and Camping, with his sister Dianne and brother-in-law Doug.  He always enjoyed being outdoors in the sunshine.

Dean also loved spending time with all of his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Dean is survived by his adoring family, including his 3 children:  Harold "DJ" (Courtney) Conley, Jodee (Russell) Eldred, and Natasha (Charles) Smith; a very special niece, Billie M. Rose; 9 grandchildren, John Michael Eldred, Casey-Ann Eldred, Megan Eldred, Jayden Conley, Charles Smith, Madison Smith, Aaron Rainey, Hailee-Mae Eldred, and Savanah Smith; as well as his brothers and sister: Darrell (Cathy) Conley, Dwayne (Jackie) Conley, Dianne (Doug) Cuatt; and his best friend, a Shih-Poo named BeBe.

In honor of Dean's wishes there will not be a funeral or memorial service.  Dean will be buried beside  his father Millard Conley at Albion Memory Gardens and there will be a celebration of life memorial for him at his sister's home in Charlotte, MI on Saturday, January 24, 2015 from 2:00 - 5:00PM at his home 3188 Mulliken Road, Charlotte, MI 48813.

In place of flowers or plants, the family asks that any donations be made to the Sparrow Cancer Center, 1215 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing, MI 48912
