Helen Borden Obituary
Helen M. Borden

Helen M. Borden, 87, left her earthly home to be with her Lord on Saturday, November 21, 2015.  She passed peacefully surrounded by her family.  Helen was born in Battle Creek, Michigan to the late Doris and Robert Gifford.  She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1946.  She was married and lived in Battle Creek, Michigan raising 3 children.  At the age of 38, she pursued her love of nursing and received an associate degree as a LPN.  In 1982, she moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana to work at her daughter and son-in-laws company Cinmar, as a commercial sewer.  After retiring she traveled extensively.  She was an avid bowler with multiple 300 games, reading mystery novels were a passion, as was knitting and crocheting.  Her love of cooking made the Holidays a special affair.  Helen was a very strong and independent person, facing every medical challenge with courage and strength.  She was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2012 and was quickly robbed of all the things she loved.  She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Surviving are her children, Gary (Janice) Borden, Larry (Lynn Frisch) Borden, Cindy (Mark) Pfeiffer; grandchildren, Kristen (Fronsman) Borden, Kellon (Samantha) Borden, Jenny (Reed) Nolt; great-grandsons, Kevin Fronsman, and Connor Borden. Helen was also preceded in death by her grandson, Kevin Fronsman, and sister, Jean Johnson.

Service is 4:00 pm, Saturday, November 28, 2015 at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road with calling from 2:00 pm until the service.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Make A Wish Foundation, Riley Children's Hospital, , or the Leukemia Foundation.  The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the wonderful nurses at Woodview, and Heartland Hospice for their love and care of their mother.
