James M. Boehmer

James M Boehmer, 51, of Olivet, Michigan passed away Monday, May 29, 2013 peacefully and surrounded by his family at University of Michigan Health System.

Jim is survived by his wife of 31 faithful years, Spring (Ainslie) Boehmer, sons, Dustin, Matthew & Jill, Bradley & his fiancé Marissa, and Alexander; his siblings and their spouses, Mary and John Gehrig, Robert and Mary Boehmer, Earl Boehmer, Mark and Debbie Boehmer, as well as several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thela and Earl Boehmer.

Jim was a passionate man of many interests and even more professions. Early in life he managed a local full service gas station, diligently supervised the manufacturing floor at Nipppondenso, was an independent salesman and operated his own construction company. Jim obtained his Masters degree in education administration and taught at Pennfield School District where he developed positive and dynamic relationships with the teaching staff and students. He also served the city of Bellevue as a fire fighter for nearly 30 years.

Jim was the model of the term "family man". He spent his free time supporting his wife and her endeavors as owner of the Riverside Cafe, enjoying a cup of coffee with a friend, solving a mathematical equation, or starting a new business venture. He shared his love of Agriculture, Athletics and Fine Arts with his sons and found no greater joy than fostering their growth and knowledge in their own adventures.

A very special thanks to all the nurses and doctors at U of M, and the SICU team, especially Danielle, Rachel and Margaret for all their knowledge, devotion and support through this trying time.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2013 at Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue and from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Charlotte.  A Rosary will be recited 7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  Mass of Christian Burial for Jim will take place 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013. Jim will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery in Kalamo Township, Michigan. Memorial donations may be made to Bellevue Fire Department or St. Ann Catholic Church, Bellevue.

The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue. www.shawfuneralhome.com
