Johnny Allen Wood II Sturgis Johnny Allen Wood, II age 22, passed away Sunday evening October 20, 2013 in Sturgis Township due to injuries sustained in an automobile pedestrian accident. He was born September 13, 1991 in Battle Creek, Michigan son of Johnny and Lisa (Pennock) Wood. Johnny resided in Sturgis for the past six years coming from Delton. He had been employed by Morgan Olson in Sturgis. He had also worked at the Sturgis Wal-Mart and had done some carpentry and roofing work and worked on his grandfather's farm. Johnny loved most anything that involved the outdoors. Some of his favorite hobbies included hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles especially dirt bikes and four wheelers. He is survived by his fiancée: Megan Bowman of Sturgis; father and step-mother: Johnny and Kathy Wood, I of Marietta, Ohio; mother: Lisa Wood of Battle Creek; four sisters: Aryanna Wood, Alexis Wood, Jenelle Douglass and Destiny Wood; grandparents: John and Anna Pennock, Jr. of Sturgis, Loyal and Crystal Wood of Battle Creek, Anna Douglass of Battle Creek and Kathy Pierce of Battle Creek; great grandfather: John Pennock, Sr. of Burr Oak and several aunts, uncles and cousins The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Hackman Family Funeral Homes - Rosenberg Chapel, 807 E. Chicago Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091, 269-651-3284. Funeral services celebrating the life of Johnny A. Wood, II will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A graveside committal will follow the service at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis. Memorial donations would be appreciated to Megan Bowman, 25790 Bogen Rd., Sturgis, MI 49091 to help with her future needs.
