Karen Ann Veramay Concord Karen Ann Veramay, age 61, of Concord, MI passed away on the evening of February 11, 2013 at Allegiance Hospice in Jackson, MI surrounded by her loving family. Her life was taken by Cancer. Karen was born January 13, 1952 in Saginaw, Michigan, the daughter of the late Norman and Helen (Sperling) Wilder. Karen graduated from Frankenmuth high school in 1970 and Albion College with a BA in 1974. In 1978 she married Art Veramay and they have four children: Julie (Jeff) Edwards, Kentwood, MI; Sarah (Steve) Eles, Brimley, MI; Craig Veramay, Occidental, CA; and Rachel Veramay, Concord, MI. Karen was the Concord Branch Manager for the Jackson District Library. For 35 years she was involved with the Girl Scouts of America. Karen loved working with children and young people and spent many hours sharing her love of reading and books within the community. She especially loved reading to children at Concord Elementary School. Karen leaves to cherish her memory: her husband; her children; brother Wayne (Edna) Wilder, Vassar, MI; sisters Sally (Tony) Paden, Palmer AK, Eileen White, Marengo, IL, Jenise (Todd) Yonker, Chagrin Falls, OH; six grandchildren: Kiersta, Autumn, Gabriella, Andre, Alaina and Alexander; nieces, nephews and their families. The family appreciates all the prayers, love, and support. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday February 20, 2013 at the Lauer Funeral Home, 116 S. Main St., Concord, MI., where a memorial service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 21, 2013.
