Karen F. Friday Corunna Karen F. Friday age 70, our mother, grandmother, aunt and friend has gone to be with her Lord and all her loved ones. She passed on Friday, November 1st 2013 in Battle Creek, Michigan. She leaves behind many memories with each and everyone of us. She had the best care provided by Bronson Hospital, Battle Creek, by their dedicated and compassionate staff. Funeral services will be held 11a.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at First Congregational Church-UCC of Owosso, Michigan. Pastor Deb Grazier will be officiating. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Monday November 4th from 6 to 8pm and on Tuesday November 5th from 2 to 8pm. Karen was born February 19th, 1943 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Mervin and Helen Kelley Davis. She graduated from Atlanta, Michigan High School and attended Interlochen Art Academy. She married Leroy Friday in Atlanta, Michigan on February 15, 1964. He predeceased her in 2007. Karen was a member of First Congregational Church- UCC of Owosso, Michigan where she was employed as secretary for 16 years and was very active in the Women's Fellowship, as well as the United Church of Christ, Michigan Conference. Karen was an active in the Owosso Musicale and Shiawassee Arts Council. Karen gave the most precious gift we can offer anyone, her attention. When mindfulness embraces those we love they bloom like flowers. She will be engrained in the hearts of her family, friends, and strangers because of her spark, her smile, and the joy within her soul which she so freely gave. Karen is survived by her fiancé and best friend Ron Marlatt; son Kevin (Charlene) Friday; daughter Lesha Friday (fiancé Dr. Richard Stacey); grandchildren Kyle (Jen Hamilton) Friday, Erik Friday and Kelley Friday; great grandchildren Avarie and Dylan; brother Dennis (Janet) Davis; sisters-in-law Lyn McBride and Barbara McBride; many nieces, nephews and loving family and friends. She was predeceased by her Husband Leroy and brothers Delmar McBride and Charles McBride.
