Katherine E. Conrad, 99, of Battle Creek and Linn Creek, MO died at Osage Beach Health Care Center on Thursday, May 8, 2014.

Katherine was born April 14, 1915 in Lake City, Michigan to Ward P. and Frances L. (Peck) Sherman.  She was a 1934 graduate of Ottawa Hills High School in Grand Rapids, MI.  Katherine was employed at Lerner's Dress Shop in Grand Rapids and transferred to the Battle Creek store as assistant manager.  She worked at Shane's Ladies Apparel during WWII and then Paris Linen Shop.  She was a buyer for L.W. Robinson Department Store 1947-49.  Katherine was employed in the family business, Mother's Dry Cleaners in various managerial capacities until 1976.  She worked for Jiffy Cleaners 1984-1991 and for Ferrari Beauty Salon 1992-1995. 

Katherine was united in marriage to Glen L. Conrad on July 14, 1940 in Battle Creek.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen on February 3, 2006.  Surviving are her son, David G. Conrad of Linn Creek, MO; a brother, Frank (Barbara) Sherman of Chicago, IL, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Katherine was also preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Kay Conrad, one day after her birth and by a brother, Edward Sherman.

Katherine was a member of Battle Creek Bible Church.  She was a former member of the B.C. Womens League, B. C. Garden Club and the National Farm & Garden Club.  Katherine enjoyed gardening, was an excellent cook  and loved spending time with her family. 

Friends will be received at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Thursday.

Graveside services will be officiated by Pastor Larry T. Messer in the Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2014.  Memorial contributions may be made to .
