Leonard C. Peters, 84, of Battle Creek, died Sunday, March 8, 2015 at Bronson at Home Hospice Residence.

He was born November 5, 1930 to John C. and Marcella (Thomas) Peters in Wanamie, Pennsylvania.

He graduated from high school in Pennsylvania and attended Princeton University and served in the U. S. Navy.  He worked as an engineering supervisor for 37 years with General Motors in Milwaukee, Wisconsin retiring in 1990 from the Delco Electronics division.  He came to Battle Creek in 1990 and worked at Advantage Sintered Metals.

He was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Battle Creek; a member of the GM Retirees Club in Milwaukee and the Princeton University Alumni Association.  He enjoyed his many friends among the staff and residents of Lakeview Senior Living.

He married Priscilla R. Tutaj on June 30, 1951 in Milwaukee, she died in 1998.  He then married Mary Helen LeMense who died in 2008 and Elaine Moore who died in 2012.  Surviving are son, Leonard C. (Mary Jane) Peters of Dalton, Pennsylvania; daughters, Sandra (Craig) Spalding of Farmington Hills, Donna (Rick) Altobello of Manhattan, Kansas and Laura (Jet) Perelli of Battle Creek; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; and 9 step children; brother, Bernard (Gloria) Peters of Glenn Dale, Maryland; and sister, Christine (Earl) Blake.  He was preceded in death by sister, Bernadine Johnson.    

Visitation, 5 until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Shaw Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 1, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Francis Marotti officiating.  Interment in Fort Custer National Cemetery.  Memorials to Bronson At Home Hospice Residence, U. S.  Navy Memorial or the USS Salem Association.

The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home.
