Marvel A. (Louden) Gabriel Richland Marvel A. (Louden) Gabriel, 94 of Richland, died Saturday, August 4, 2012. Marvel was born August 27, 1917 in Ross Twp., MI the daughter of William and Marguerite (Edgett) Louden. She was raised on the Louden family homestead near the Kellogg Biological Station. She graduated from the Kellogg Agricultural School near Hickory Corners in 1935. She worked at the Kellogg Biological Station, the Kellogg Manor House and other homes in the Gull Lake area. Marvel married John P. Gabriel on August 3, 1935. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1996; she was also preceded by her son, Dennis Gabriel and her daughter, Marlene Gabriel. Marvel enjoyed music. She sang in the choir of the Hickory Corners Wesleyan Church. She also sang in church choirs for 12 years in Zephyrhills and Oakside Park, FL, where she and her husband wintered. She enjoyed golf and working with ceramics. She was a 50-year member of the Kellogg Extension of Kalamazoo Co, and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Barbara Gabriel of Battle Creek, three grandchildren, Janet (John) Marlatt, Donald (Robin) Gabriel and Becky (Donnie) Clark; ten great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren and many cousins. The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Richland Chapel, 9170 East D. Ave. Richland MI, where the funeral to celebrate her life will be held at 11:00 am, with the Rev. George A. Coon officiating. Interment will follow at Hickory Corners Cemetery.
