Maxine M. Sarver Obituary
Maxine M. Sarver Battle Creek Maxine M. Sarver, 93, of Battle Creek died September 9, 2012 at Spring Arbor Manor in Spring Arbor. She was born September 25, 1918, the daughter of Benjamin and Della (Lockard) Wright in Battle Creek. Maxine graduated from Marshall High School and worked at Post Cereals and the Federal Center. She was also a graduate of Dale Carnegie and served as president of the Declamation Club and in 1985 was the president of the Battle Creek singles. She attended the Free Methodist Church all of her life and served as a Sunday school teacher, treasurer and secretary for the church. Maxine is survived by her children, Joyce Lyon of Battle Creek, Gordon J. Sarver of Goose Creek, South Carolina, Roxana (Charles) Hopkins of Cement City; eight grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay Charles Sarver; parents; brothers, Kenneth Wright, Clifford Wright and sister, Geraldine Yoder. The family will receive friends from 12 until 1:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2012 at Shaw Funeral Home where services will take place at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Earl Habecker officiating.
