Nancy Kay Ruff, 75 of Albion, passed away Friday, May 27, 2016 at her residence. She was born May 28, 1930 in Albion, Michigan to Allan and Ethel (Hagemann) Scherer. On September 7, 1963 she was united in marriage with Duane A. Ruff; he survives.

Nancy was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be dearly missed by all who love her. Known as a classy fashion conscious lady, Nancy loved shopping and was an avid Bridge player. She was outgoing, giving and compassionate to all she met. Nancy enjoyed traveling with Duane and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Nancy retired from the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home in 2007 after a very successful career. She was the first employee hired at the funeral home when it opened in 2000.  Prior to working at the funeral home, Nancy worked for Dr. Caudill and Dr. Sapala.

She is survived by her loving husband and friend, Duane;

2 daughters Jody (Jeff) Young, Lisa Downey and one son Allan (Heather) Ruff; grandchildren, Sydney Downey, Corey Downey, Mason Griffith, Morgan Griffith, Aliza Ruff and Alexandra Ruff,

Sister, Barbara Messacar (Skip Zabel); several nieces and nephews; brother and sister-in-law Clarence (Mary) Ruff.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of family and friends will be 5:00-8:00 PM Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive in Albion.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 1, with visitation from noon until the time of service at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 100 Luther Blvd, Albion, with Pastor Dennis Matyas and Rev. Lannon Martin officiating. Nancy will be laid to rest at Riverside Cemetery in Albion.

Memorials contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the Calhoun County Human Society.
