Nathan M. Alverson, 22, of Athens, died Friday, June 19, 2015 in Pinconning.

He was born September 15, 1992 in Battle Creek to Michael and Kathleen (Seibel) Alverson.

Nathan graduated from Athens High School in 2011 and from Ferris State University in May 2015 where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Surveying Engineering.  He recently began working as a CAD Designer for Surveying Solutions, Inc. in Standish.

He was very active in Boy Scouting throughout his youth and became an Eagle Scout in 2010.  He was also a member of the Order of the Arrow and loved everything surrounding Scouting and camping.  At Ferris State he was a member of Alpha Chi Rho Fraternity and Lambda Sigma, the Surveying Honor Society.  He was also a member of the Burt & Mullet Surveying Society.

Nathan is survived by his parents, Michael and Kathy Alverson of Athens and sister, Amanda Alverson of Rockwood, Michigan.  Also surviving are paternal grandparents, Lynwood "Woody" and Adele Alverson of Athens; aunts, Diane Seibel of Athens, Charlotte Seibel of Lapeer; uncles, Jerry (Wendy) Seibel of Clio, Michigan, and Duane Alverson of Merrillville, Indiana; cousins, Kristen (Tom) Marcotte of Lapeer, Laura Seibel of Davison and Stacy (Justin) Griffiths of  Madison Heights.

Family will receive friends from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Shaw Funeral Home, Battle Creek.  Funeral, 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 25, 2015 at the funeral home with Pastor David Mackaluso, officiating.  Interment, Burr Oak Cemetery in Athens.  Memorials may be made to the Athens Area Community Foundation.

The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home, Battle Creek.
