Norman C. Tullock


Norman Chester Tullock, age 90, passed away Thursday, December 4, 2014 in Kalamazoo.  He was born on March 9, 1924 in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada a son of Samuel and Iva (Patchin) Tullock. Norman entered the US Navy in January of 1943 and served as a gunner's mate in the Philippines and the Asiatic Pacific before being honorably discharged in January of 1946. He was employed by Massey Ferguson and Clark Equipment as a transportation manager.  Norman also owned and operated Shady Bend Park in Augusta for twenty years.

He was preceded in death by: two sons, Robert Tullock and Thomas Tullock; two brothers, Gordon Tullock and Lyle Tullock; and his parents.  On May 25, 1946 Norman married the former Lois E. Heim, who survives.  Also surviving are: a son, Jonathan (Robin) Tullock of Portage; daughter-in-law, Sherry Tullock of Texas Township; eight grandchildren, Kyle (Stephanie) Tullock, Ashleigh (Garrett) Avirett, Joshua Tullock, Krystal Jordan, Christopher (Christina) Maze, Heather (Jeffrey) Hall, Tina (Fred) McHugh and Allison Hunter; fourteen great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday afternoon, December 8th beginning at 1:00 at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street where services will begin at 2:00, with Pastor Dan Duncan, officiating. A time of fellowship will follow the service. Private inurnment with military honors will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
