Patricia R. Miller

Patricia Miller passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on November 30, 2013 after a long illness.  She will be remembered for her bright smile, charming personality, kind and thoughtful ways, and the ability she had for making everyone love her.   She was born on November 29, 1929, the third of five children to Sophie and John Anderson in Hancock, MI.  After graduation from High School she boldly moved to New York City and then Detroit working as a secretary, then returned to Hancock where she met and married Richard Miller.  They moved to Battle Creek where they established roots and raised their only child, Pam. Pat worked for the government and then for many years as the smiling face of the Personnel Dept. at Eaton Corp.  After her husband's death, she had a long time relationship with her beloved Cecil Young, which continued up through her passing.

She is survived by the family she loved, including daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Michael Curtis, her three grandsons, Cailan Curtis, Alex Curtis, and Brendan Curtis, his wife, Adele, and their son, her first great grandchild, Paul.  She is also survived by her companion, Cecil Young, and his children, who loved her too.

Her funeral will take place at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 16 E Van Buren St., Battle Creek, MI at 1:00 PM, Fri. Dec. 6, with reception following in the church social hall.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Saline Evangelical Home, 440 W. Russell, Saline, MI 48276, or to the Area Agency on Aging 1-B, PO Box 4259, Detroit, MI 48267-4259, both of which helped to provide support and loving care to Pat.  Pat was loved and cherished by her family and friends and will be sorely missed.  May she forever rest in peace.
