Phyllis Jean Jahnke Phyllis Jean Jahnke, passed into the kingdom of Heaven, November 16, 2012. Born in 1933 to Otto, Sr. and Idamay Jahnke in Appleton, WI. The family moved to Minocqua, WI when she was a child. She graduated from Lakeland High School. After seeing her two daughters raised, she moved to Waukesha, WI and started her career working for RTE Corporation, and electrical transformer manufacturer. An accomplished seamstress, she also enjoyed knitting and gardening. Possessing a unique and special ability to communicate with horses, she raised and trained a variety of them over time. After retiring, Phyllis moved back to the northwoods and later to Marshall, MI and later to Battle Creek. She is survived by a brother, Otto (Crystal) Jahnke, Jr.; a sister, Betty Mae; daughters, Sally (Ed) Slayton and Jackie (Felix) Torres; grandchildren; and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; and infant son, James Robert Johnson. Her earthly presence will be missed by all of whom knew and loved her. Private family cremation will be held. Memorial donations may be made to hospice of your choice. An open house in celebration of Phyllis' life will be held Sunday from 1:00-5:00 p.m. at the home of Sally and Ed Slayton.
