Raymond Deno Obituary

Raymond "Ozzie" Deno Battle Creek Raymond "Ozzie" Deno, 88, of Battle Creek, passed away at the Battle Creek Veterans Affairs Medical Center on Sunday, September 21, 2008. He was born in Battle Creek on July 13, 1920, the son of the late Frank and Mary (Williaume) Deno. Ozzie served in the United States Army during World War II where he fought at the Battle of the Bulge and was later held as a P.O.W. He received three bronze battle stars. After the war Ozzie returned to Battle Creek where he worked at Weston Biscuit Company, retiring as a foreman after 45 years. Ozzie loved traveling and fishing. Ozzie was preceded in death by his wives, Viva and Donna. He was also preceded by his parents and sister, Blanche. He is survived by his brothers George and Paul Deno; stepdaughter, Linda Munoz and her children Joey and Johnny; several nieces and nephews; and his very special friend, Lois. Visitation for Mr. Deno will be held on Thursday, September 25, 2008 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Royal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Friday, September 26 at 11:30 a.m. at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society.
