Rolland "Duane" Eishen

Olivet

Rolland "Duane" Eishen, 83,  passed away on August 26, 2013 at his home with his family by his side.  Duane was born on June 30, 1930 to Orville and Minnie (Sharp) Eishen in Albion, MI.

On July 2, 1949, Duane married Genevieve Marie Adrianson and together they raised 1 son and 3 daughters in Olivet, MI.   Duane worked as a Maintenance Leader for Olivet College for 21 years until his retirement in 1992.  Duane was also a former school bus driver for Olivet Public Schools and a lifelong farmer on Green Road in Olivet.  He loved camping, woodworking, and helping the Williams brothers in the fields after his retirement.  He and Genevieve enjoyed dancing for many years at various venues around central Michigan including at Beadle Lake, the Moose lodge and at Narrow Lake.  After retirement, Duane and Genevieve wintered in Texas and then in Florida until 2011.

Duane is survived by his loving wife of 64 years; 3 daughters - Nancy (Ronald) Creech of Plainwell, MI, Terri (Dan) DeBarr of Charlotte, MI, and Cynthia (Richard) King of Gobles, MI; son - Steven (Sandi) Eishen of Olivet, MI; sister - Gloria Southward of Charlotte, MI; and brother - Leonard (Rosalie) Eishen of Sturgis, MI.  He will be deeply missed by his 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his parents, Orville and Minnie Eishen.

 Visitation will be held Thursday, August 29, 2013 from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 6 pm to 8 pm at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, MI.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 11:00 am at Pray Funeral Home with Pastor Winford Collins officiating.

Interment will take place in Bosworth Cemetery in Olivet.

Memorials are suggested to the Olivet Chapter of the Future Farmers of America.
