Rosemary Patricia "Pat" McCormick

Olivet

Rosemary Patricia "Pat" McCormick of Olivet, Michigan, died on April 20, 2014, after a lingering respiratory illness. She died peacefully while a resident at Eaton County Palliative Care in Charlotte, Michigan. Born March 17, 1930, to Anne Monica (Oberleiter) and Walter William Miller in Carleton, Michigan. A graduate of St. Joseph's Academy in Adrian, she was employed as a laboratory technician and later as an office nurse.

On July 14, 1951, Pat married John McCormick at St. Patrick's in Carleton, Michigan. She is survived by John, their children Nathan (Heather), Mitchell, and Ruth (Charles) Schenk, and their grandchildren Ian McCormick, Cullan McCormick, and Elise Schenk. Also surviving are Pat's much loved sisters Theresa Gall and Jeanette Juhasz, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. Pat was preceded in death by infant daughter Helen and infant son Mark who will forever remain an integral part of her family.

Pat's attention to detail made the family house a home. Mom was an accomplished painter, quilter, cross-stitcher, and family genealogist. Mom also enjoyed entertaining - she created many memorable casual and holiday gatherings from the flower arrangements to the decorations to the meal and scrumptious desserts. And never missing from any gathering was Mom's blaring polka music.

Pat wanted to thank the staffs at Oaklawn Hospice and Eaton County Palliative Care who assisted her during the later stages of her illness. A special thank you from Pat and her family to Joan Wentworth who lovingly helped Mom through this last year. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Oaklawn Hospice, Marshall, Michigan; Eaton County Palliative Care, Charlotte, Michigan; or St. Ann's Church, Bellevue, Michigan.

Visitation is at Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home Carleton Chapel from 2:00 - 8:00 pm on Thursday, April 24, with rosary service at 4:00 pm. On Friday, April 25, Pat will lie in repose at Divine Grace (St Patrick's) Catholic Church in Carleton from 10:30 am until the 11:00 am funeral mass. Interment will take place at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Maybee, Michigan.
