Theodore Edwin "Ted" Konkle Obituary
Theodore "Ted" Edwin Konkle Passed away in his home on Sunday, February 22, 2015. Ted was born on September 4, 1945 in Albion to Edwin and Maxine (Sharp) Konkle. He married Victoria (Smock) Konkle on October 30, 1970. Ted had three children, Amanda (Trajan) Dubiel, David (Kimberly) Konkle and Kristin (Steve) Bush. Ted had six beautiful grand-children (Kailey and Matthew Konkle, Téa and Mikel Dubiel and Sydney and Audra Bush) that brought him much joy. Ted was general manager and part owner in Sheridan Industries. He also served in the Army National Guard and retired as Sargent First Class. He took great pride in his work and serving his country. Duck Lake Country Club was a special place for Ted. He was past President of the Board and after numerous rounds of golf succeed in getting his first hole-in-one on September 22, 2004. In addition to golf Ted enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling with the Myrtle Beach group and cooking. Ted is also survived by his mother, Maxine, mother-in-law, Mary Ann Smock, siblings, Mary Lou Konkle, Christine (Alan) Sebesta, Scott (Ava) Konkle and Fr. John (Amy) Konkle and sister-in-laws, Peggy (Steve) Luty and Terri (Bob) Metcalf. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his father, Edwin, step-father, Bill Stoffer, father-in-law, Floyd (Smokey) Smock, grandparents, Ward and Ruth Sharp, and Walter and Mary Konkle. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 27 at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive in Albion, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation before starting at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Prostrate Cancer Foundation (www.pcf.org) or the Movember Foundation (www.us.movember.com). www.jktiddfuneralhome.com.
