Thomas Stephan Andersen, 90, of Battle Creek, passed away on his 58th wedding anniversary Thursday, May 29, 2014 at home. He was born November 17, 1923 in Battle Creek, the son of Olaf and Ethel (Stephan) Andersen. Tom served in the US Air Force as a Corporal during World War II. He married Cerena Quinlan on May 29, 1956 in Grand Rapids, MI. Tom worked a total of 47 years for Post Cereal before retiring. He was a member of the Battle Creek Tabernacle and served 55 years as a Deacon and 25 years as the chairman for the Deacons. He served 10 years on the Board of Directors for the BC Sanitarium Hospital and was on the Board of Directors for the Battle Creek Academy for 40 years.

Tom enjoyed playing golf and water skiing at the family cottage on Long Lake in Cloverdale.

He is survived by his wife, Cerena "Tippi" Andersen; children, Thomas (Jean) Andersen and Theresa (James) Williams; 5 grandchildren; and 4 sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Harold Anderson and Marjorie Jesse.

Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Thursday, June 5, 2014 from 5:00-8:00 PM. Graveside services will be held Friday, June 6, 2014 at 12:00 PM at the Fort Custer National Cemetery with Pastor Bruce Moore with Battle Creek Seventh Day Tabernacle officiating.
