Virginia "Ginny" Petch, 85, of Battle Creek, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at Bronson at Home Hospice. She was born July 27, 1930 in Battle Creek, the daughter of Chris and Grozda "Rosa" (Ivanhoff) Nicola. Ginny worked at the VA Medical Center in the Canteen for 28 years before her retirement. After her retirement, Ginny stayed very much involved with the VA through volunteering. She enjoyed working see and find puzzles, sun bathing, Macedonian Dancing, and spending time with her grandchildren. Ginny faithfully donated to many charities including, American Humane Society, St. Jude's, and to local schools and fundraisers.

She is survived by her sons, Rick (Deb) DeLeon and Tony (Tracey) Petch; brother Eli  Nicola; sister, Suzanne (Sid) Horsfall; grandchildren, Rachel (Allen) Marshall, Justin (Lakeysha) DeLeon, Destiny Wilk, Alex Petch and Jordan Petch; and great grandchildren, Layla, Wyatt, Bella, Wesley, and Harper.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Nickolaou; and sister-in-law, Beverly Nicola.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 16th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with the funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM with The Very Rev. Archpriest Lawrence Bacik of St. Elias Eastern Orthodox Church officiating. A private family burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI.
