Athens

William D. Bova passed away March 20, 2015 at his home in Jacksonville, FL.

He was born on October 25, 1941 in Athens, MI the son of William J. Bova and Bernice May (Musholt) Bova.

Bill graduated from Athens High School in 1960.

He married Evelyn Jeanette Kelley June 6, 1967 in Upland, California.

Bill joined the Navy on February 1, 1961 in Battle Creek, MI.  He served 30 years in the Navy and retired in Norfolk, Virginia on July 15, 1988.

 He loved his family and all his friends and never met a stranger. Bill  was a proud Navy veteran. God rest my wonderful husband and father.

He belonged to Amvets, American Legion, FOPA, and the Athens VFW Post 5319.

He is survived by his wife Evelyn of 48 years; son William D. Bova Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; 2 step daughters Karen (Dale) Piacentini of Jacksonville, FL, Kathy (Mark) Southall of Dallas, TX; 2 sisters, Mary Ervin and Kay Fergerson both of Columbus, OH; 4 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation:  Saturday June 27, 2015 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at the Spencer Family Funeral Home, Athens with services to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Spencer's.

Military Honors at the North Sherwood Cemetery by the Athens VFW Post 5319.

Memorial donations may be made to the Athens VFW Post 5319
