William "Bill" Joseph Hallack


William "Bill" Joseph Hallack, 65, of Augusta passed away, Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo.

He was born February 12, 1948 in Battle Creek, the son of Wayne and Margaret (Hodgson) Hallack. Following his graduation from Battle Creek Central High School, Bill enlisted in the United States Air Force.

He was employed by Doubleday Brothers, Kalamazoo as a printer for 30 years retiring in 1998.

Bill will be best remembered by enjoying and working on his Porsche Roadster car. He was a member of the 356 Registry. Bill was known as being an incredible mechanic and he helped anyone in need of car repair. He enjoyed Civil War History, being a handyman and traveling, especially to St. Ignace, Michigan.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 41 years Linda (Keely) Hallack; son, William Wayne Hallack of Chicago; brother, Jon S. (Myra) Hallack of Mattawan; niece, Linda Hallack of Battle Creek; nephews, Jason (Melissa) Hallack of Scotts and Todd (Elizabeth) Hallack of Livonia, Dylan Lange of Evans, CO.  He is also survived by his great niece Isabel Hallack and his special friends in the Gang of Five.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 12 noon on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Shaw Funeral Home, Battle Creek where a Memorial service will take place at 12 noon.
