Wilta Virginia Lambrecht


Wilta Virginia Lambrecht, age 89, of Marshall and formerly of Albion died Thursday evening September 17, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Lambrecht was born on April 29, 1926 in Albion to Willard E. and Milda E. (Alber) Reiser.  She was a life long resident of this area and was a graduate of Albion Washington Gardener High School, class of 1944.  She continued her education attending the University of Michigan and then receiving her B.S. degree in Medical Tech. from Western Michigan University.  On September 17, 1948, she married Richard H.  Lambrecht in Albion.  Mr. Lambrecht preceded her in death on January 17, 1982.  Following the death of her husband, Wilta stepped in and ran their family business, Albion Pattern Company until she sold it in 1983.

Wilta was an active volunteer in the Albion and Marshall areas.  She served over twenty years in Camp Fire Girls.  She was the Past President of the Tanawida Council of Camp Fire and also the WE-Kan Do Council.  Over her many of years of service, she had held nearly every position of leadership in the Albion Camp Fire organization.

Wilta was a very active lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Albion.  She had serviced as a past trustee and as a youth counselor from 1965 to 1967.  Other area memberships included the Jackson Road Club, the Emitte Lucem Tuam (E.L.T.) Club, the Calhoun County Federation of Women's Club, the American Association of University Women and the Duck Lake County Club.  She also held a membership with the Albion Community Hospital Service League, where she served as the chairperson for the Life Line Program.

Wilta was a passionate University of Michigan fan and held season football tickets for over fifty years.  She also enjoyed playing bridge and recently served as the chairperson for the National House Ladies Bridge Club in Marshall.  She also enjoyed traveling, playing golf and studying health and nutrition.

She is survived by daughters, Sandra (Daniel) Scarberry of Henderson, NV and Lee Ann (Charles) Banks of Kernersville, NC; and a grandson, Christopher Scarberry.

The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 PM to 3 PM and 5 PM to 8 PM at the Craig K. Kempf Family Funeral Homes, Marshall Chapel.  A funeral service to celebrate to gift of her life will be held 11 AM Monday, September 21, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Albion with Reverend Dennis Matyas officiating.  Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Albion.
