Eleanor J. Robinson


Eleanor J. Robinson 77, passed away at Hospice Austin's Christopher House, February 23, 2014.  She was born October 18, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan, first child of Ewaldt F. and Louise Laine Fick.  Eleanor graduated from Lakeview High School in Battle Creek, Michigan, with the Class of 1954.  She attended Milton College in Wisconsin, Patricia Stevens Modeling School in Chicago and worked for Fahnstock & Company in Battle Creek, Michigan.

On February 4, 1962 she was united in marriage to Russell G. Robinson in Battle Creek.  They were married 52 years and blessed with 4 children.  In 1979, Eleanor and her family moved to Round Rock, Texas where she was active in her children's swimming activities throughout their school years.  She worked for the Round Rock I.S.D. for many years and retired from the Lago Vista ISD.  It was then they removed to Jonestown.

Eleanor became an excellent Bridge player both locally in several clubs and in international tournaments on OK Bridge on-line.  She had a life long love for animals, feeding the wild birds, having 2 parrots, a cockatoo and cats.  She also had a green thumb, raising many beautiful flowers.

Eleanor is survived by her husband, children Nancy, Scott, Karen and David, a grandson, Bryce, a sister Karen (Walter) Urick of Michigan and brother, Ewald (Marian) Fick of Florida, and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by a sister, her mother whom she cared for until she passed away in 2007, and her father.

As per her wishes, she was cremated and there will be no service.  Those wishing to make donations in her memory are asked to consider the or your favorite animal shelter.
