Louis Carroll Lingg, age 93, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at his home. He was born December 30, 1920 in Tekonsha, Michigan to Rudolph and Mary (Larrison) Lingg, the 6th of 7 children. He attended Lakeview High School, where he excelled in several sports and graduated in 1939. In 1941 he married Betty Winn and they celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary last fall. He and Betty loved traveling and dancing. Louis was a WW II veteran and spent many years in the grocery business before retiring from the Kroger Company in the 80's. He was an avid gardener and spent many years trying to outwit the deer who were partial to his vegetables.
Louis Lingg is survived by his beloved wife, Betty and their 4 children: Marsha (Frank) Easterbrook, Janice Kurtz, David (Deanna) Lingg and Jane (Demos) Kotsanos; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Wednesday April 16th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Richard A. Henry Funeral Home, 703 Capital Avenue S.W., Battle Creek. A private interment will be held at a later date. www.henryfuneralhome.org
