Kathryn Elaine Priesman


Kathryn Elaine Priesman, 89,  passed away on  April 14, 2014 in Nashville, MI .

She was born on November 10, 1924 to Frank and Bessie (Loveland) Kelly in Grand Haven, MI.

On April 18, 1942 she married Ward Priesman inWaynesville, MO where Ward was serving at Ft. Leonard Wood in the US Army.

During WWII and shortly after, Kathryn worked in manufacturing for Eaton Corporation until she entered Kellogg Community College's  nursing program.  After graduation she worked as a LPN for Community Hospital in Battle Creek until her retirement in 1980.

Kathryn was a member of the Charlotte VFW Auxiliary, and the Kalamo United Methodist Church.  She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, and sewed her love into numerous quilts for her family members to curl up with.  Over the years Kathryn also became an avid Detroit Tigers Fan.

Kathryn is survived by her  three daughters, Pam (Art) Groner of Bellevue, MI, Paula (Winton) Pugh of Cornelius, NC, Penny (Mark) Pierce of Bellevue, MI; son, Patrick (Alice) Priesman of Vermontville, MI; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grand children, and 1 great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by Ward Priesman, her husband of 68 years; her father, Frank Max Kelly; mother, Bessie Irene Kelly; brother, Frank Max Kelly Jr.; brother, Richard Kelly; brother, Jack Kelly; sister, Esther Gould, and  brother, Elwood Kelly.

The family will receive visitors Friday April 18, 2014 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at Pray Funeral Home, Charlotte, Michigan.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 19, 2014 at 11 AM at the Kalamo United Methodist Church, Vermontville, Michigan, with Pastors Bryce Feighner and Dan Phillips officiating.  Interment will take place in Hillside Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Kalamo United Methodist Church.
