Alice B. "Bernie" Crocker, 85, passed away Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Oaklawn Hospital, Marshall.

She was born January 22, 1929, the daughter of Michael Joseph and Alice Rose (Avery) O'Connor in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan.

Bernie went to work for Michigan Bell which then became A.T. & T. as a switchboard operator and as a supervisor, retiring in 1984 after 35 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Francis L. Crocker in 2007; her son Jeffrey Crocker in 1979; sisters Margaret Vankampen and Cora Johnson and brother Leonard O'Connor. Bernie is survived by her children, Debra (Ronald) Clift of Bellevue, Stephen (Tina) Crocker of Riverton, UT, and Cheryl (Larry) Butkus of Grand Ledge; sister, Shirley (David) Yates of Boonesville, MS, grandchildren; Dr. Camy (Andrew) Chapin, Dr. Michael (Sarah) Clift, Courtney (Nicholas) Hamilton, Jeffrey Butkus and Ryan Butkus; great grandchildren, Carson Chapin, Caleb Chapin, Camden Chapin and Chloe Hamilton.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue where a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at St. Ann Catholic Church, Bellevue with Rev. Fr. David Rosenberg officiating.  Interment, Riverside Cemetery.  Memorial donations may go to and St. Ann Catholic Church.

The family is being served by Shaw Funeral Home, Lehman Chapel, Bellevue.
