Bishop Charles Blaniar

Bishop Charles Blaniar, 84, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Bronson Hospital in Battle Creek, MI

He was born August 6, 1929 in Ford Cliff, PA to Frank and Tillie Blaniar. Charles was employed with Pittsburg Plate Glass Company for 20 years. Charles was a Minister/Bishop with the Church of God of Prophecy for 39 years. After retiring from the Ministries in 1996 he moved to Battle Creek, MI where he was employed with Meijer's and Wal-Mart. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy for 69 years.

He married Barbara Ruth Burdett in 1948, in Ford City, PA. She survives.

Also surviving are sons, Charles T. Blaniar of Dayton, PA, Barry Blaniar of Templeton, PA and Terry Blaniar of Springfield, MI; 9 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He also leaves his sisters Mary Brink of Springfield, MI and Rosie Paris of Niles, OH and brother John Blaniar Sr. of Ford City, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, 7 brothers and 3 sisters.

Charles enjoyed going hunting, fishing, fly tying, and quad riding. Every year family members and friends would go Salmon fishing; his famous word was "FISH ON".

Visitation will be at The Church of God of Prophecy, 2938 W. Dickman Rd., Springfield, MI on Tuesday, May 6 from 3:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm and on May 7 from 9:00am to 10:00am. Funeral services will be following at 10:00am at the Church of God of Prophecy with Bishop Jack Anderson Jr. officiating the service. Interment will be at Reese Cemetery, Springfield, MI
