Gloria May McKeen Battle Creek Gloria May McKeen, 77, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence in Battle Creek. She was born February 13, 1933 in Battle Creek the daughter of John Angerer and Esther May (Cook) Angerer. She married David F. McKeen on November 27, 1949 in Battle Creek and he preceded her in death on August 21, 2007. Gloria worked at Vicra's Deli, Eitila Bakery, and Plaza Card and Gift Shop. Gloria ran a licensed foster care home for 25 years. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. At the church, Gloria, taught Sunday School, worked in the nursery and sang in the choir. Gloria was a camp fire leader and an assistant leader. Gloria had received the 25 year Award and the Luther Halsey Gulich Award for adults. She belonged to the Dennis McKeen Aux. 558, the Bedford A.E.S. 471, N.C.H.A. and the Fighting River Campus. She enjoyed spending time with her family, going camping, traveling and working at the Urbandale Food Pantry for 10 years. She is survived by her mother; sons, David L. McKeen, Dennis (Holly) McKeen; daughters, Susan Moore, Diana McKeen, Sheryl (Gerardo) Mejia Villeda; foster son, Henry (Brenda) Teadt; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father; brother-in-law, Keith McKeen; and grandson, Aaron Ranger. Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Monday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at Christ United Methodist Church with Rev. Carolyn Robinson-Fisher officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence or Christ United Methodist Church.
