Donald Frank Moore Sr. Donald Frank Moore Sr., age 88, went to be with Jesus on Sunday December 12, 2010. He was at home where he had been taken care of by his Daughter in law Brenda, for the past 8 years. D.F. was born in Cinders Corner, Ohio to Marie (Houghns) Moore on December 21, 1921. Don served his country during World War II in the Asiatic Pacific Campaign for the United States Army; earning a Bronze Star and several other medals. He married Opal Lee (Wagers) Moore and they had one child Donnie Moore Jr. whom also went to be with Jesus this year. D.F. enjoyed playing cards, hunting rabbits, squirrels and spending time with his dog "Buck". He was a huge Cincinnati Reds fan and was very proud to be a "Buckeye". Don retired after a full career working for the city of Battle Creek as a street sweeper. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Opal Lee and their son, Donnie Moore Jr. Surviving are his two grandchildren, Angie Brock and Nicole Moore and his two great-grandchildren, Ariana and Mitchell Brock; and daughter-in-law, Brenda (Donnie) Moore; and brothers, Oland "Ruben" Moore, of Oklahoma City, OK, and Peter "Pete" Moore of Tallahasee, FL. Graveside services where held on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at Fort Custer National Cemetery, with Rev. Jim Codde officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Services of Battle Creek.
