Gerald Shaffer Homer Gerald Shaffer, 91, a life long residence of Homer passed away Monday, July 18, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Homer Township in 1919 to Thurman B. and Goldie Shaffer. Gerald married Rose Mary Licking in 1948 and she survives. Gerald was a farmer his entire life . He served on the Homer School Board for 17 years, he was also a Homer Township supervisor for 12 years, and a Member of the United Methodist Church of Homer. Gerald is survived by: wife: Rose Mary, daughters: Jerri Lou (Terry) Crandall of Homer, Kally Sue (Mark) Walcott of Minneapolis, MN; 3 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters. Visitation for family and friends will be will be Wednesday, July 20, 2011, from 2-4 and 6-8 at the J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive, Albion Michigan 49224. Service will be Thursday, July 21 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Mark Mitchell officiating at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Fisher Cemetery in Homer Township, Michigan.
