Larry G. Carlson Battle Creek Larry G. Carlson, 70, of Battle Creek, died April 30, 2012. Larry was born July 17, 1941 in Albion to Roy and Maxine (Hanville) Carlson. Larry was a 1960 graduate of Marshall High School and went on to work for GM as a dye maker. He worked 29 years and retired in 1991. Larry enjoyed many activities, including fishing, going to the casino, and building anything, especially solar energy systems. He especially liked old cars, including his 1976 Corvette. Larry married Sandra Huff on August 23, 1960, who survives. The couple enjoyed 51 years of marriage. Also surviving are their two daughters, Annette (Bill) LaForce and Joni Thompson; three grandchildren, Bethany (Steve) Fedewa, L.B. LaForce, and Josh Thompson; two brothers, George Marble and Daren Marble; and three sisters, Marlene Sawyer, Elaine Summers, and Tammie Williams. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Gayle. Funeral services to celebrate Larry's life will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Kelly Hadlich. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service, starting at 11:00 a.m. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Gift of Life.
