Gail D. Roberts-Morford Battle Creek Gail D. Roberts-Morford, 58, of Battle Creek died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at home. She had been ill for several years. She was born on February 5, 1954 in Chicago, Illinois to Jerry Ruble and Della (Dowdy) Roberts. She attended Second Missionary Baptist Church where she shared accepting Christ as her Savior with her dad 20 years ago. She united in marriage to Roger Alan Morford on February 5, 2004. She was a Battle Creek resident most of her life. She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School. She attended Kellogg Community College with emphasis on Nursing through the area Vocational Educational Center. She was employed at the Battle Creek Health Systems for six years, Laurels of Bedford for six years, and retired from Kellogg's after twenty four years. Her hobbies included gourmet cooking, camping and helping others, and she loved spending time with her family. Surviving are her husband, Roger Alan Morford; mother, Della Roberts; son, Eugene Anthony (Stacy) Roberts; stepdaughter, Christina Pozan; 4 step grandchildren; one great grandchild; brothers, Jerry and Darrell Roberts all of Battle Creek; aunts, Vivian Lee (Dowdy) Robbins, Ora Mae (Dowdy) Rhodes, Abbie (Dowdy) Gray and Cecelia (Dowdy) Taggart; uncles, Walter Dowdy, Sr. and William "Bill" Dowdy; along with a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father in 2010. Visitation will be held Thursday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service with Rev. Theo McNutt of Second Missionary Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI. Memorial tributes may be made to the family.
