Claude H. Van Nocker Jr. Obituary
Claude H. Van Nocker, Jr. Battle Creek Claude H. Van Nocker, Jr. 83, of Battle Creek, died January 14, 2013 at Bronson Battle Creek. He was born May 10, 1929, the son of Claude H. and Effie (Brunt) Van Nocker, Sr. in Battle Creek. Claude worked for 20 years at Post Cereals as a power house operator. He also worked at Clark Equipment, Kalamazoo Tank & Silo and for five years owned a Phillip 66 gas station. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Priscilla (Cole) Van Nocker of Battle Creek; daughters, Brenda Troutner of Battle Creek, Sally (Mike) Hoeksema of Delton; son, Bruce (Carol) Van Nocker; 13 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 13 brothers and sisters. Claude and his wife spent the past 20 winters in Daytona Beach, Florida and many summers in Manton, Michigan. He was a member of the Post Sportsman Club, Eagle's and Moose Lodges in Florida. Claude loved all animals, people and children and enjoyed family get-togethers. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at Shaw Funeral Home. Services will take place 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor William Baker officiating. Interment, Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
