Larry D. Cole Battle Creek Larry Dean Cole, 65, died February 1, 2013 at Bronson Battle Creek. He was born May 18, 1947, the son of Roy and Lizzie (Perkins) Cole in Ivyton, Kentucky. Larry grew up near Tekonsha and attended Quincy High School. He served in the U. S. Army as a sergeant in Vietnam and Germany. Larry was wounded in combat and received three purple hearts. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for the city of Battle Creek for 32 years, retiring in 2008. He also worked for C&F Vending in Coldwater and Gallagher Laundry in Battle Creek. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his grandchildren and family. Larry is survived by his wife, Sarah (Lindsay) Cole of Battle Creek; son, Stephen (Stephanie) Cole of Battle Creek; daughter, Melissa Cole of Battle Creek; five grandsons and one granddaughter; sister, Beatrice (Malcolm) Vanderpool of Tekonsha, Faye (Wilbur) Williams of Mt. Pleasant; brother, Roy (Mary) Cole, Jr. of Sherwood and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Monroe Cole, Woodrow Cole, Eugene Cole and sisters, Loretta Cole and Roberta (Cole) Eaton. The family will receive friends from 2 until 4:00 p.m. and 6 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Shaw Funeral Home. Services will take place 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at the funeral home with Kip Williams officiating. Interment, Fort Custer National Cemetery.
