Douglas D. Hunt Albion Douglas D. Hunt, 69, of Albion, passed away Saturday March 1, 2014 at his residence. He was born November 26, 1944 in Albion, Michigan to Lynnford Dean and Charlene Florence (Lusk) Hunt. He was married to Ruth A. Marshall June 6, 1992 in Albion and she is surviving. He is a lifelong resident of the area, a 1964 graduate of Washington Gardner High School in Albion. He is a Veteran of the United States Army National Guard. He has worked as a Custodian for Albion Public Schools; retired from the City of Albion in 1996 as a Firefighter; and later worked for Campus Safety for Albion College. He is a member of the Marshall Moose Lodge # 676; Albion Eagles Aerie # 1265; and Also a member of the Albion Elks Lodge # 1798, being a Past Exalted Ruler and Past Elk of the Year of the Albion Elks Lodge # 1798. Besides his wife, Ruth of Albion, he is survived by 1 daughter, Shelly (boyfriend, Jeff) Heath of Ionia; 2 sons, Brian (girlfriend, Angela) Hunt of Kalamazoo, and Charles Hunt of Leesburg, Florida; 2 stepsons, Derek McKim of Lansing, and Gregg McKim of Ypsilanti; 8 grandchildren and 7 ½ great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Sandy (Gary) Coombs of Lady Lake, Florida, Sharon (James) Glasco of Lapeer, and Donna Wilbur of Albion. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter, Abigail Hunt. Visitation for Family and Friends will be Wednesday March 5, 2014 at the Albion Elks Lodge # 1798, 10725 28 Mile Road, Albion, MI 49224 from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. with an Elks Lodge of Sorrow at 12:30 at the Albion Elks Lodge. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 P.M. at the Lodge with Rev. Dennis Matyas officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to: Lifespan Hospice of Battle Creek or the Albion Elks Lodge # 1798. The Family is being assisted with arrangements by Peaceful Journey Memorials 412 South Superior Street, Albion, Michigan 49224.
