Myrtle Moore Obituary
Battle Creek
Myrtle F. Moore age 76, of Battle Creek, MI, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, April 13, 2015 at Heartland Health Center in Battle Creek, MI.
She was born June 13, 1938 in Battle Creek, MI the daughter of Clarence H. Squires and Jessie B. (Heckman) Squires.
Myrtle had worked at Lakeview High School in the cafeteria for 2 years; afterwards she worked at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility as an activities director for 10 years. However for most of her life she was a wife, mother, and homemaker,
She married William James Moore Sr. on October 15, 1955 in Battle Creek, MI, however he preceded her in death on February 8, 2004.
She is survived by two sons: Clarence "Ron" and Dorothy Moore of Battle Creek, MI, and William J. and Jennifer M. Moore, Jr. of Clarkston, MI, Flint, MI; four grandchildren: Christine Liss, Ronald Moore, and Tim Moore all of Battle Creek, and Alivia Moore of Flint, MI; nine great grandchildren.
She had attended Lakeview High School. She enjoyed going to Flea Markets, Auctions, Garage Sales, to see and bet on the horses at the Jackson Harness Raceway, and she loved to cook and bake for any get-togethers and family functions.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a baby brother who died at birth; two brothers: Herman "Gene" Squires, Clarence "Bud" Squires in March 2015; and a sister: Jessie B. White.
Visitation will be at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 where the family will be present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Funeral services commemorating the life of Myrtle Moore will be held Thursday, April 16, 2015 at11:00 AM in the Bachman Funeral Chapel with Pastor James L. Sparks officiating. Burial will follow at the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI. Memorial tributes may be made to: American Cancer Society or the Calhoun County Medical Care Facility.
