Marcella Whisenant, 93
Funeral services for Marcella Whisenant, 93, Bakersfield, Missouri, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 17, 2012, at Bridges Creek Missionary Baptist Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Whisenant died at 10:35 a.m., Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Hospice House of the Ozarks, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
She was born March 1, 1919, at Bakersfield, Missouri, to Lewis Elbert and Grace Margaret Mullins Atkinson. On July 25, 1941, she was married to Claud H. Whisenant, who preceded her in death on February 20, 1974. Mrs. Whisenant was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by three children, Bill Whisenant, wife, Cindy, Belvidere, Illinois, Roger Whisenant, wife, Carolyn, Mountain Home, Arkansas and Marilyn Roberts, husband, Jim, Bakersfield, Missouri; five grandchildren, Billy Whisenant, Jr., wife, Becky, Leah Kays, husband, Rich, Jeff Whisenant, Steven Goodwin and Shawn Goodwin, wife, Darlene; six great-grandchildren, Hailey Whisenant, Derrick Whisenant, Wade Kays, Dylan Whisenant, Hannah Goodwin and Halle Goodwin; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, one great-grandchild, Zoe Whisenant and two sisters, Alice Faye Bean and Emma Lee (Loy) Schauffler, precede her in death.
Mrs. Whisenant will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday, November 16, 2012 at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Baptist Hill Cemetery beside her husband. Memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Hill Cemetery, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. On line condolences may be expressed at robertsondrago.com.
