Gunther Herman Rausch, 84
A Funeral Service for Gunther Herman Rausch of Midway, Arkansas, will be 11:00 am, Monday, December 16, 2013, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Roy Crane officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of service.
Gunther passed away December 10, 2013, in Midway, Arkansas at the age of 84. He was born December 7, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, the son of William and Marie Bender Rausch. He married Norma Schroeder on December 11, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois and worked as a sprinkler fitter. Gunther was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Gunther lived in Midway since 1980, moving from Cary, Illinois. He was a member of the Calvary Bible Church, Midway, Arkansas. He was also a member of the National Street Rod and Custom Car Association and enjoyed fishing, traveling and playing cards.
Gunther is survived by his close friends, Stella and Frank Kolar and Helen Kolar of Mountain Home, AR and Richard and Sue Seils of Midway, AR; three cousins, Rick (Patricia) Rausch of TX, Lillian Ridgeway of Chicago, IL and Julius (Patricia) Rausch of Riverside, IL and his nephew, Russell Dee.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Military Honors will be provided by the Ozark V.F.W. Post #3246 Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House.
