
Calvin Ward Comstock, 95
Calvin Ward Comstock, age 95, of Mountain Home, Arkansas went to be with the Lord whom he loved on October 13, 2012, at his home. Calvin was born on a farm in Hyde County, South Dakota, to George and Edna Comstock on August 21, 1917. He graduated from high school in Miller, South Dakota in 1938.
Mr. Comstock enlisted in the
U.S. Navy Seabees in 1943 and was stationed at Tinian Island until his honorable discharge in 1946. He worked in the electrical power industry for 41 years; 21 years building rural electric transmission and distribution lines and the last 20 years as manager of Wayne County PPD in Wayne, Nebraska.
Mr. Comstock was preceded in death by his son Calvin Carl Comstock, wife Irene Anita Comstock, wife Esther Tosi Comstock, three brothers and two sisters. Survived by his foster daughter Mary (Bill) Cimperman and family of Maple Grove, Minnesota, caregiver Sunny Garrison, nieces and nephews that he held deeply in his heart, and many friends. To all who knew and loved him, Cal was known as "the man in the red sweater."
A Celebration of life will be Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at 1:00 PM at the Twin Lakes Church of the Nazarene in Mountain Home, Arkansas. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Ozarks, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
