Funeral Services for Carrie Goldie Lancaster of Mountain Home will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 22, 2013, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Marillyn Schultz officiating and funeral rites by Fraternal Order of Eagles Lodge #3183 FOE. Visitation will be Friday, June 21, 2013 from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm, at Kirby & Family Funeral Home.
Goldie passed away June 14, 2013, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 98. She was born March 19, 1915, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Alonzo and Carrie Crabtree Holden. Her mother died at her birth and she was adopted by her father's sister. She married Carl Darnell at age 13 and moved to Long Beach, CA. Two children were born in this marriage which ended in divorce. Goldie was a single mother for many years until she married Jesse Lancaster. She and Jesse moved to Mountain Home in 1973.
Goldie was a Charter member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary #2473 in Bellflower, CA and a member of the Auxiliary #3183 in Midway, AR since 1973. She held many offices and performed in award winning ritual teams throughout her over 60 years with this organization. She worked as a cashier at the Eagles Bingo on Fridays until after her 98th birthday this year.
Carrie "Goldie" is survived by her son, Bobby Lee (Sharon) Darnell, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, many great-great grandchildren and a niece, Delores Koppes of Lodi, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jesse, her daughter, Rose Janine Wood, her parents and all of her siblings.
Burial will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery, Mountain Home, AR.
