Edward Louis Pierce, age 82, of Mountain Home, Arkansas, passed away Monday, January 20, 2014, in Mountain Home.
He was born January 4, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois to Thomas and Martha Wroblewski Pierchalski. On November 24, 1956, he married Joan P. Karwatka in Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Pierce moved to Mountain Home in 1994 from Chicago. Mr. Pierce was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church where he was a Eucharistic Adorer, a U.S. Army
veteran of the Korean War
, a lifetime member of Ozark VFW
Post #3246 and Alley-White American Legion Post #52, the Korean War Veterans and had served in the local Honor Guard for military funeral honors.
He is survived by two sons: Michael (Evonne) Pierce: Longmont, Colorado, and Robert (Donna) Pierce: Aiken, South Carolina; a daughter: Susan (Robert) Podsiadlik: Mountain Home; seven grandchildren: Samuel, Dominic, Anastasia, Olga, Alex, Simon and Ethan; three brothers: Donnie, Tommy and Ronnie; and two sisters: Loretta and Lois. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and a brother Bobby.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, January 24, 2014, at Roller Funeral Home and a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M. with Deacon Robert Pierce officiating. The Funeral Mass will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Reverend Norbert Rappold as celebrant. Entombment will be in the Mausoleum of Serenity in Baxter Memorial Gardens with military honors by Alley-White American Legion Post #52.
