George B. Frederick, 77

George B. Frederick, age 77, passed away Wednesday October 2, 2013. George was born August 16, 1936 in Cleveland, Ohio.

As a young man George traveled extensively with friends on his Harley Davidson Motorcycle. During his Army service, George was assigned to the 1st Battle Group, 3rd Infantry (The Old Guard) where he served as a Guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. He also participated in the Inaugural Parade of President -Elect John F Kennedy as one of the Presidential Military Guards. After his military service George served on the Parma Heights (OH) Police Department. He left that department and joined the Phoenix (AZ) Police Department where he spent most of his career as a motor officer and motor-rider trainer. He retired from that department in 1987 after 21 years of service. He and his wife Kathy moved to Montana where they lived for four years. They relocated to Mountain Home, AR in 1991.

George was a member of the Moose Lodge #1953 and the Elks Lodge # 1714. He was a founding member and Treasurer of the Twin Lakes Retired Police Scholarship Group. George enjoyed gardening, baking and socializing with his many friends.

George is survived by his loving wife Kathryn S. (Kathy) Frederick.

There will be a gathering of friends Monday October 14th from 4:00pm til 6:00pm at the Moose Lodge in Mountain Home. Memorials, if desired, can be made to the Twin Lakes Retired Police Scholarship Fund in care of First Federal Bank of Mountain Home, AR.
