Jack Travis Pantall, 84

A Memorial Service for Jack Travis Pantall, Lt. Col. USAF (Ret.), of Mountain Home, Arkansas, will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, June 27, 2013, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Reverend Marillyn Schultz officiating.

Jack passed away June 23, 2013, in Mountain Home, Arkansas at the age of 84. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana, November 13, 1928, and grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana, the son of Jack Sr. and Mayme Whitley Pantall. Jack was a dedicated husband to the late Wanda Dean Pantall.

Jack was a 1952 graduate of Southern University with a Bachelor of Science in Geology & Mathematics and a 1953 graduate of St. Louis University with a Masters of Science in Geophysics.

He married Wanda Dean O'Neal in 1953, and commenced to lead a charmed life of travel with the U.S. Air Force and with his family to such exotic locations as New Dehli , Bangkok, Kashmir, Kamandu, Nepal and Alexandria, Virginia. He was a distinguished veteran of Eniwetok Bikini Island Proving Grounds and the U.S. Pentagon.

In Mountain Home he distinguished himself as Chairman of the Building Committee of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, and a member of the Elks Club and the U.S. Power Squadron.

Oh, and he played so much golf until he said enough, enough already!

He is survived by his children; Patricia Boonstra (John) of Flippin, AR, Roby Pantall (Wanda) of Rogers, AR, and Michael Pantall (Maria Del Pilar) of Roanoke, Va. Paterfamilias to five grandchildren; Austin, Johnny, Sarah, Pedro and Racquel.

Inurnment will be in the Kirby's Tucker Memorial Mausoleum, Mountain Home, AR.
