John Stanley Stuhr, 84
John Stanley Stuhr, age 84, of Lake Delton, Wisconsin joined his beloved wife in eternity on Sunday, March 2, 2014.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Wisconsin Dells with Father Michael Richel celebrating. Visitors may call at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.
John was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 23, 1929 to Harry and Amelia (Billman) Stuhr. He grew up in Chicago and married Eileen Stupay on September 25, 1954. Their marriage was a true love story that lasted over 57 years and was blessed with three children.
John was employed by the Walgreen Company for 45 years. After his retirement he moved his wife to their "little corner of paradise" in Mountain Home, Arkansas in 1993 where they both made many friends. John enjoyed bowling, collecting coins, attending garage and estate sales and gardening but nothing was more important to him than his family. After losing the love of his life in 2012, John split his living arrangements between his home in Mountain Home, AR and with his daughter and son-in-law, Steve and Diane Solava of Wisconsin Dells. He will forever be remembered as a very happy loving man whose happiest moments were when he was in the company of his entire family, which usually happened around the holidays.
John is survived by his three children, Diane (Stephen) Solava of Wisconsin Dells, WI, Bradley (Dawn) Stuhr of Belvidere, IL, and Susan (Steven) Coolidge of Lansing, MI; grandchildren, Clayton and Cady Coolidge, Bradley (Jeanette) Stuhr and Kimberly (Joshua) Robertson, Ryan and Skye (Nicolaus Weyrauch) Solava; and great-granddaughters, Elaina Stuhr and Eden Robertson. He is further survived by brothers-in-law, Larry (Beatrice) and Jerry (Gloria) Stupay as well as nieces, nephew and many friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eileen; parents; step-mother, Julia Stuhr; mother-in-law, Blanche Howard and nephew David Stupay.
