Mary M. Gunn, 78

Mary M. Gunn, 78, of Mountain Home, formerly of Madisonville, Kentucky passed away Monday, March 31, 2014 at her residence in Arkansas.

She was born June 10, 1935 in Hopkins Co., Kentucky to the late Isaac "Ike" Whitfield and Sybil Whitfield. She was also preceded in death by sons, Eugene, Homer and Allen; brothers, Clyde, Brenton, Delbert and Charlie; sisters, Althea Whitfield and Eudel Stanley; sisters-in-law, Catherine and Blanche Whitfield and brother-in-law, Carl Stanley.

Ms. Gunn was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She enjoyed shopping, crocheting, quilting, spending time with her family and friends and spoiling her grandkids.

She is survived by two daughters, Diana (Rick) Denny of Dawson Springs, Kentucky and Beverly (Tommy) Basham of Earlington, Kentucky; one son, Aubrey (Nancy) Gunn of White Plains, Kentucky; two brothers, W.R. (Virginia) Whitfield of Elizabethtown, Kentucky and Jimmie (Anita) Whitfield of Mountain Home; daughter-in-law, Cathy of Nortonville, Kentucky; sister-in-law, Dot Whitfield of Providence; and she was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville, Kentucky. Burial will follow at Whitfield Cemetery in White Plains, Kentucky.

Visitation will be from 11:30 AM to 2:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

Local arrangements are under the direction of Conner-Hankins Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Chris Gunn, A.J. Gunn, Tommy Gunn, Ben Gunn, Timmy Gunn and Trevor McKnight. Honorary pallbearer will be Joseph Gunn.
