Walter "Lee" Dixon, 74

A funeral service for Walter "Lee" Dixon of Cotter, Arkansas will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 18, 2013, at the Roller Funeral Home Chapel. A visitation will be Wednesday from Noon - 9:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Whiteville Cemetery.

Lee passed away April 15, 2013, at his home in Cotter, Arkansas at the age of 74 years and 1 day. He was born April 14, 1939, in Harrison, Arkansas to Louis Cecil and Leah (Harris) Dixon. He married Betty A. Dixon on May 6, 1962, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Lee served in the United States Army. He worked 40 years as a machinist and supervisor of his own shop. All his employees loved and respected him. His great love in life was his wife, four children and 10 grandchildren. He loved to write songs and play the guitar. He loved hunting, fishing and visiting his buddies.

Lee is survived by his wife: Betty Ann, four children: Carmel Melton and husband Bill, Candy Dixon and Mark Harvey, Curt Dixon and wife Sarah and Cass Dixon and wife Nikki, his grandchildren: Josh Pope, Meleah, Malachi and Micah Melton, Alicia, Ashley and Logan Dixon, Payton, Holly and Abby Dixon, step grandchildren: Jaden and Tristen Wilson and Emily Harvey, two brothers: L.C. Dixon and wife Bonnie and Richard Dixon and wife Nelda, a sister: Naomi Day and husband Larry and lots of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Rodney Dixon. Pallbearers will be Josh Pope, Malachi Melton, Micah Melton, Logan Dixon, Alan Dixon, David Dixon and Brad Dilbeck.
